We’re the Professionals – We get students into colleges and universities for a living!

We are a group of college counselors and a college administrator who help students get into four-year colleges and universities on a daily basis.  Educationally, we all have Master’s degrees in Counseling and come from a variety of colleges where we completed our undergraduate and graduate degrees (e.g. UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, San Francisco State University, Long Beach State University, etc.).  Professionally, we work with a large diverse population in California colleges where we focus on academic, career, and personal counseling assisting student reach the goal of attending a university and graduating.

The personal relationships we have built with admissions officers and campus representatives helps us stay up-to-date and in tune with what is happening at the UC campuses, CSU campuses, private universities, and out-of-state schools.

  • NohelFounder

    Nohel is a graduate from UC Santa Barbara where he was a Division I Track & Field athlete, majored in Sociology, Spanish, and minored in Physical Education. Nohel earned his Master’s in Science (M.S.) degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Student Development in Higher Education. He has been working in higher education since 2004 as a counselor, manager, and administrator. He began his career working as an assistant director in the College of Business at CSULB.  There, he connected with elementary, high school, and community college students enabling them to prepare and apply to four-year universities. After year’s of helping students get into colleges such as Stanford University, University of Arizona, UCLA, UC Berkeley, NYU, and many others, Nohel has created this website to help students get into the college of their dreams!

  • Meet Jessica LopezJessica LopezCollege Counselor

    Jessica is a community college graduate.  She transferred to UC Berkeley, where she graduated with highest honors as a Psychology major and Italian minor.  She had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy twice while at UC Berkeley.  Jessica earned her Master’s in Science (M.S.) degree with a specialization in College Counseling and an emphasis in Career Counseling from San Francisco State University.  Since 2009, Jessica has been helping first-generation students, both at the high school and community college level, get into colleges and universities, including UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, and NYU.  For the past 4 years, Jessica has also taught a college success course and has recently started an outreach program working with middle school students to connect them with pathways to college and prospective careers.

  • Meet Nate NevadoNate NevadoCollege Counselor

    Nate has been a California community college counselor for nearly 10 years. He graduated from San Francisco State University with a Master’s in Counseling with a specialization in College Counseling. His direct work with students has placed them into top 4-year universities around the nation such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, Columbia University, University of Hawaii, and Stanford University. In addition to his work at a counselor, he has taught College Success courses for the last 8 years. He is also the coordinator of the new Center for Innovative Practices through Hip Hop Education and Research (CIPHER) that provides educational pathways to 4-year universities with courses contextualized through Hip Hop. Through his various means of student support, his approach has been described as student-centered, passionate, and innovative.

  • Meet Suzanne PomaSuzanne PomaCollege Counselor

    Suzanne graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and minored in History at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).  She also earned her Master in Arts degree in Education/ Counseling with a specialization in Student Personnel from San Jose State University (SJSU).  Suzanne has a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential and currently serves as the Transfer Director/Transfer Counselor at a California Community College.  Suzanne partners with many private and public universities across the country each year ensuring her students get admitted to top universities.

  • Meet Kent GomezKent GomezCollege Counselor

    Kent started his college education at Mission College, a community college in Santa Clara, CA. He then transferred to California State University, Stanislaus and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology. After working for a year, Kent decided to pursue a master’s degree. He earned his Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Counseling, with emphasis in Career and College Counseling, from San Francisco State University (SFSU) and has been working at various community colleges in the Bay Area, CA since 2010. He is actively involved with students who desire to transfer to four-year institutions. Many of the students he helped transferred successfully to UC Davis, UC Berkeley, and UC Santa Cruz among other university campuses in California. A highly dedicated individual, Kent goes above and beyond to ensure the success of the students he serve.

  • Meet Lucy PerezLucy PerezCollege Counselor

    Lucy recently graduated from San Francisco State University where she earned her Master’s degree in Counseling. She has worked for a number of years at the high school level helping students get into four-year colleges and universities.  Lucy has moved into the community college level and is now providing students support in getting them to transfer to four-year colleges.  Her experience working with a diverse student population has led to her helping students get admitted to top colleges in the state and nation.  Lucy practices putting students first in making sure they can highlight themselves in the best possible way through the personal statement.  Her years working with high school students as well as community college students have provided to be most helpful when helping students create the perfect personal statement that reflect their “story.”
